Game Of The Week
This week will be my 50th game published. I don’t know how many couples get to celebrate their 50th, but I would imagine it is a rare occurrence. I was lucky enough to celebrate 50th anniversaries with both sets of grandparents, so it is a milestone that holds many fond memories for me.
Therefore, I thought my 50th game should come from someone who epitomizes stability. Well, in my case, that would be Jeff Fox. We are not quite to our 50th anniversary of rated, over-the-board games, but we are close (40).
I would call him my “chess wife,” but that would sound too weird unless you remember the King of Queens’ “work wife” episode.

This Week In Chess
Tuesday August 2, 2005
On July 26, the CSCC had 21 members in attendance. In the USCF-rated games (G90), Larry Wutt won over Mike Davis, Tom Mullikin mastered Kathy Schneider, and Earl Wutt whipped Jerry Maier.
The rest of the group played in challenge matches (G15). The lowest rated member chooses four opponents and then the next lowest chooses four more until the opponents are exhausted. This gives members a chance to maximize their rating gain for the free entry to the Pikes Peak Open, which will be announced this week. Here are the results:

Allan Ufer
by Zisa Mogilefsky
By the way, I must correct an error in the essay "ZISA REMEMBERS ALAN UFER." Alan always drank manhattans neat and chilled...not martinis.

PS
Donna and Bud Ford informed me that all the gang who attended the get-together at the STAGECOACH INN on Friday evening, July 22, 2005 ordered the following: shrimp cocktail and a chilled manhattan--- neat.
Comments from the Guest Book
Shaun MacMillan, CS, July 26th:
Whew, I thought for sure you would savage me with our games of last week. Then I remembered you didn't keep score . . .
