Game Of The Week
The last time I played Josh Bloomer in a simultaneous exhibition was March 26, 2002. He was an expert and I was a Class B-player. He beat me then, and now that he is a Master and I am a Class A-player, I figured I would take another shot at him.
However, I made a huge mistake by sitting between Renae Delaware and Tom Mullikin. We were talking and laughing way too much. If we had been in school together, the teacher would have had to separate us.
Both Tom and Renae had blown the opening and were going to lose the exchange. Tom refused to accept it and lost his queen and two pawns instead.
His comment to us was, “I have a slight edge in development.”
I said, “That is great, at least you got out of the frying pan!” But despite the madness, I was able to play 15 decent moves before falling apart:

Chess For Girls
Glenn Miller was nice enough to send me the Chess For Girls video (avi file). I could only get the sound, but I may have an old version of the media player. However, the audio alone still cracks me up. If anyone wants to hear it (and possibly see it), just let me know, and I will email the large file (7.7MB) to you. It is just too large for my puny, little website.
[Update] Now you can see the video version:
Last Week In Chess
Tuesday May 3, 2005
On April 26, the CSCC had 27 members in attendance. In the USCF-rated matches (G90), Mike Davis beat Jerry Maier and Brian Wall took care of Tony Telinbacco.
Most of the members played in the simultaneous exhibition given by National Master Josh Bloomer. Josh played white on all boards and allowed players one pass. Only Jason Caldwell and Bill Whinemiller were able to get any points from Josh with a couple of draws. Here are the results and the order the games finished:
