Game Of The Week

It's nice of you to do a tribute to Al (https://cschessnews.blogspot.com/2007/07/deans-choice.html). This was one of the last games (perhaps the last) that I played against him. Chess wise, it is not a very good game; there are lots of blunders in it, and while I maintained an advantage through most of the beginning, the horrendous blunder at move 39 where I drop a Bishop was absolutely pivotal. Al then had an easy win, but got sloppy in the last couple of moves and allowed me to get a draw.
Over all, Al and I played something like 15 games. I won 7 and Al won 7 and I believe this game is our only draw. I miss him; some time ago when writing a note to Brian Wall's Yahoo Bulletin Board around the time of Al's death, I mentioned the record between us, and that perhaps someday I'll get to play Al again. That would be nice.

Hello Paul, and happy fourth of July to the CSCC.
Thanks for going back in time and showing me how terrible a game I can play. I enjoyed reliving the game especially Nxc5. I remember the draw with Brian in round 1 of the same event. I was a couple of moves from mating him when I panicked with 3 seconds on my clock and offered a draw. Tell Brian thanks for all the fun speed games. Give Dean and Buck my regards. Get Renee Delaware back to the chess board as her name is missing from the latest cross tables. Her games, I am sure , is missed by all. Paul, if you are hard pressed for games to print, may I suggest you publish your round one game from the June Mating Game against Anthea Carson. I would love to see that gem. Also, round three and four from the same event would be some nice treats.
So long for now, I hope to make an appearance at a Colorado Springs event in 2009. If only to give you some more memories. I enjoyed my two months in the Springs and I am looking forward to another visit.

I'm thinking about submitting it to that film festival they hold each year in Telluride! This one is about "The Lion", and is kind of a neat variation where black can suffer some serious collaterial damage if they are not careful. This is the first one. We are going to release about one a week. Feel free to rate it, and leave comments :-) If you should share with your group that would be Grrrrrrrrrreat!!! (Said like Tony the Tiger or possibly like the boss in Office Space)
